A well-established and trusted electrical contractor based in Benfleet, the company provides professional electrical, fire, and security services to both domestic and commercial customers across Essex and North London, including Basildon, Southend, Colchester, Leigh-on-Sea, and surrounding areas.

The Role
This is a fully mobile position working from home and travelling daily to customer sites within a practical commuting radius. While most work will be local to your home location, flexibility is required to travel to other areas when needed.
You will carry out a varied workload of reactive maintenance, installations, rewires and electrical testing, with a significant amount of EICR testing and associated remedial works for electricians who hold the relevant inspection and testing experience/qualifications. The role requires someone confident working independently in a “one engineer per van” environment, maintaining high technical standards and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Reactive maintenance and fault finding
- Electrical alterations and installations
- Consumer unit replacements
- Full and partial rewires
- Installation of EV charging units
- Electrical testing, including EICRs and associated remedial works
- Accurate completion of certification and documentation, including test certificates and risk assessments
- Participation in an on-call rota, currently 1 week in 7
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in reactive and jobbing electrical work across domestic and commercial environments
- Fault finding and electrical diagnostics experience
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification
- Confident working independently without supervision
- Professional and customer-focused approach, including working in occupied homes
- Strong problem-solving skills and confident decision-making on site
- Organised, tidy and presentable
- Must be over 25 years old due to insurance requirements
- Own basic hand tools
- Full UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points
- Willing and able to travel daily within approximately a one-hour radius

- 2391 Inspection & Testing Qualification
- Gold JIB Card
- EICR testing experience
- EICR remedial works experience
- Experience with rewires
- Consumer unit installation experience
