Our client is recruiting qualified Healthcare Assistants for full-time and part-time opportunities within elderly care healthcare facilities in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
The successful candidates will support patients and service users with personal care and daily activities while working as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. A professional, compassionate and person-centred approach is essential.
The Role
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide day-to-day care and support to patients and service users, helping to maintain their dignity, independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care and activities of daily living
- Support patient dignity, privacy, independence and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Follow care plans, health and safety and infection prevention procedures
- Assist with meals in line with HACCP requirements
- Support the safe movement of patients, equipment and supplies
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Complete mandatory training as required
Requirements
Essential
- QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support (all 8 modules) or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum of 150 hours' relevant healthcare or care experience
- Current Manual Handling, Health & Safety, Food Safety/HACCP and CPI/PMAV training, where applicable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
- Willingness to undergo required Garda vetting and background checks
- International Police Clearance may be required where applicable
