Quality Controller | Preston, PR1 1UN | Full Time | Monday – Thursday - 08.00am – 16.30pm | Friday – 08.00am – 13.00pm | £30,000-£35,000 per annum

The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO9001/AS9100 and customer requirements. The role covers inspection activities, document control, audit support, and maintaining product conformity for both incoming materials and in-house manufactured goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuation/retention of existing approvals - ISO9001/AS9100 and customer approvals. Ensuring that the department's aims and objectives are communicated to staff and implemented
- Maintaining and creating appropriate documentation required to evidence compliance, including customer requirements
- Maintain the day-to-day activity required to support the Quality management system, including leading Internal / External / Supplier audits
- Ensuring that incoming product and quality documentation are in accordance with the purchase order specification
- Ensuring that in-house manufactured product is inspected and tested in accordance with Company and/or contract-specified requirements
- Ensuring that results of specified inspections and tests are recorded, maintained and approved in accordance with relevant procedures. Continuous improvement activity
- Ensuring that all non-conforming products are identified and, if practical, segregated so that no further processing or issue can take place until the approved authority sentences the product
- Provide training and awareness for all activities supporting compliance with customers’ needs and expectations
- Monitoring all associated processes to ensure conformity and appropriateness
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in Quality management systems essential
- Experienced in document writing to support the above systems
- A good understanding of engineering processes and specifications
- Experienced in improving systems with specialism in compliance management
- Proven team player
- Customer-facing background
- IT literate, in particular Microsoft products
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- A full driving license is required
- Able to travel outside the UK
