Accountant | Barking, London | Full Time | £44,000–£46,000 per annum
Our client is a London-based African Foods Wholesaler who has an exciting position available for a full-time Accountant based at their premises in Barking, London.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting function and will report directly to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the sales, purchase and nominal ledgers
- Monthly reconciliations of all accounts
- Prepare all Management Accounts for the Director
- Oversee and support the accounts function within the business
- Work with and support other members of the team
- Provide useful financial information to help management make decisions
- Take ownership of the accounts function
Requirements
Essential
- Several years of relevant practical accounting experience
- Experience working independently and taking responsibility for the day-to-day accounting function
- Good attention to detail
- Reliable, experienced, organised and hands-on
- Ability to take ownership of the accounts function
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable
- Experience within wholesale, FMCG, food distribution or a similar industry
- Good experience with Xero
- Relevant accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Experience with other accounting systems will be considered if the candidate is confident with accounting software and can adapt quickly to Xero
