Sales Account Manager | Birmingham / Bedworth | Full Time | £35,000 per annum
Our client is a historic British manufacturer with a heritage dating back to 1685. The company is renowned for quality craftsmanship and specialises in medals and awards, insignia, embroidery, ribbons, regalia, jewellery, silverware, neckwear and bespoke products.
The company works with prestigious customers across the military, government, sporting, corporate and institutional sectors, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing and design.
The Role
They are seeking a commercially focused Sales Account Manager to join their sales team.
Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for managing and developing existing customer accounts, generating new business and ensuring a high level of customer service from initial enquiry through to delivery.
The role will be approximately 80% existing account management and 20% new business development. You will inherit an existing portfolio of B2B customers, primarily within the corporate clothing and sports sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts
- Build strong, long-term customer relationships
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities
- Respond to enquiries and prepare quotations and proposals
- Follow up leads and quotations to maximise sales opportunities
- Manage customer orders and projects from enquiry through to delivery
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure customer requirements and deadlines are met
- Proactively resolve customer issues and queries
- Maintain accurate CRM, sales pipeline and account information
- Support the Sales Director with sales forecasting and business development
- Attend customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events when required
- Achieve agreed sales and margin targets
Requirements
Essential
- Previous sales or account management experience
- Strong customer relationship and communication skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Commercially driven and target-focused
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines
- Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Proactive, professional and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience within manufacturing, textiles, apparel, luxury goods, sporting or related sectors
- Experience managing bespoke or made-to-order products
