Heat Pump Installation Engineer (ASHP)
Location: Kimbolton (PE28) – Regional travel required
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: £40,000 per annum DOE
Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Heating Engineer to join their growing renewable heating division, specialising in air source heat pump (ASHP) installations across domestic and small commercial projects.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced heating professional who has practical installation experience with heat pumps and a strong understanding of heating systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality installations, supporting site surveys, and providing technical input to ensure projects are designed and installed correctly.
The role will involve working closely with the internal team, supporting the technical side of projects from initial assessment through to installation and completion.
Role Summary

The successful candidate will be primarily site-based, carrying out installations, assessing existing heating systems, supporting site surveys, and providing practical technical advice to support project design and delivery.
This role would suit someone who is looking to join a growing renewable division and play an important part in delivering high-quality heat pump installations for customers.
Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and commission air source heat pump systems

Carry out site surveys and assess existing heating systems

Provide technical input on suitable heat pump solutions

Support the sales and design process with practical installation knowledge

Attend customer sites to advise on system requirements and installation considerations

Identify materials, equipment, and requirements needed for installations

Support troubleshooting and resolve technical issues on live installations

Ensure all work is completed to high standards and in line with relevant regulations

Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery

Maintain strong customer service throughout the installation process
Skills & Experience Required

Time-served Heating Engineer with approximately 5–10 years’ experience
-
Proven experience installing air source heat pumps (ASHP)

Strong background within domestic heating systems

Experience working on retrofit heating projects

Experience carrying out site surveys and assessing heating requirements

Good understanding of heating system design and installation requirements

Ability to provide practical technical advice to support project planning

Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills

Comfortable working independently on customer sites
Desirable Experience

Air conditioning installation or servicing experience

Experience across multiple heating and plumbing disciplines

Experience within renewable heating systems beyond ASHP

Knowledge of MCS standards and compliance requirements
