7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday (38-hour week)

Up to €44,500 DOE | Permanent Role

Established in 1982, our client provides a sub-contract engineering service, specialising in machining and fabrication across a wide variety of industry sectors. With a strong reputation for quality and reliability, they are now looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller / CNC Machinist to join their skilled workshop team.

This is a hands-on machining role, with responsibility for programming and setting CNC machining centres, carrying out precision milling operations, and producing high-quality components efficiently and accurately.

What will your role look like?

  • Working as part of a team in a busy, sub-contract engineering workshop
  • Reporting directly to the Works Manager
  • Programming and setting CNC machining centres to produce a wide variety of precision components
  • Carrying out CNC milling operations, including machine setup, tooling selection and program adjustments
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to manufacture components to specification
  • Selecting appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters
  • Inspecting finished components to ensure quality and customer requirements are achieved
  • Making necessary program and tooling adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality
  • Ensuring parts are manufactured efficiently and to the customer’s specification
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

Are you the right person for the job?

Essential Requirements

  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a CNC milling / sub-contract machining environment
  • Proven experience operating, setting and programming CNC milling machines
  • Experience with CNC machining centres
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience selecting tooling and setting CNC machines
  • Experience inspecting finished components using appropriate measuring equipment
  • Good working knowledge of CNC milling equipment and machining processes
  • Ability to make program adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards

Desirable Requirements

  • CNC Milling, Toolmaker or related engineering qualification
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
  • Experience manufacturing a wide variety of precision-engineered components
  • Experience with manual milling equipment
  • Previous experience working across multiple industry sectors
  • Additional experience within a fast-paced sub-contract engineering environment
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes
  • Experience working with a range of materials and component types
