Senior Commodities Project Manager | London (W1J 6BR) | 1 Year Fixed Term Contract | Up to £800 per day PAYE
Our client is looking to appoint a senior project manager to own the overall delivery framework for its ‘enterprise portfolio’ and manage a number of business-sponsored key projects for the organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Business Change Management, the Senior Commodities Project Manager will be accountable for the overall delivery framework of the portfolio of key change projects. This role includes:
- Defining and implementing best practice, ensuring that delivery methods used are suitable for a business-lead entrepreneurial and agile environment
- Ensuring there is full transparency across executing projects including the definition of key deliverables, milestones, risks, issues, actions and dependencies
- Working with logistics functions to ensure resource allocations and impacts are understood and managed
- Maintaining a list of pipeline/new demand and facilitating prioritisation and execution discussions
- Chairing the Enterprise Change Forum where the items above are discussed
In addition to this, you will be responsible for the project management and delivery of a number of key initiatives within this portfolio.
Requirements
Essential
- A minimum of ten years’ front-to-back change delivery experience within a capital markets organisation
- Demonstrable experience delivering financial and structured/physical commodities initiatives including a strong understanding of commodities operations, particularly middle and back-office functions (e.g. trade lifecycle, confirmations, settlements, risk, P&L, reference and market data) and CTRM/ETRM platforms
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, constructively challenging assumptions while building trust and alignment
- Experience working with technology-enabled change, including automation and AI
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable solutions
- Curious and improvement-oriented, with a natural inclination to ask “why” and “what could be better”
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and shaping problems before solutions are defined
