Are you looking for a hands-on production role within a growing business specialising in adhesives, speciality chemicals, and adhesive dispensing equipment?

Our client is a distributor of adhesives, speciality chemicals, and adhesive dispensing equipment. Their extensive product portfolio includes epoxy adhesives, potting systems, conformal coatings, surface preparation products, and a wide range of materials and equipment to suit different applications.

The Role

The Production Operative is responsible for safely, accurately, and efficiently assembling, packing, labelling, and preparing customer products and kits. Working as part of the Production team, you will help ensure customer orders are completed to the required quality standards and delivered on time while maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble customer kits and product packs in accordance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure), BOMs (Bill of Materials), and customer specifications
  • Accurately pick, count, verify, and package products to fulfil production and customer requirements
  • Prepare packaging materials, labels, and documentation required for production orders
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly and packing process to ensure product accuracy and compliance
  • Complete all production records and documentation accurately and legibly
  • Report product, material, equipment, or quality concerns promptly to the Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment in accordance with 5S standards and company housekeeping requirements
  • Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures
  • Assist with stock movements and material handling activities as required
  • Safely operate manual handling equipment and other authorised tools and equipment following training
  • Support inventory accuracy through correct handling and identification of materials
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities aimed at improving quality, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to meet operational objectives and customer commitments
  • Undertake reasonable additional duties consistent with the requirements of the role

Requirements

Essential

  • Secondary education or equivalent
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good numeracy and counting skills
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and production documentation
  • Ability to work accurately while meeting productivity requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Commitment to safe working practices

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, warehousing, packaging, or assembly environment
  • Experience working within quality-controlled processes
  • Experience following written work instructions and procedures
  • Previous experience of working with Chemicals (COSHH), although full training will be given
  • Forklift certification
  • Basic computer skills
  • Internal training and certification requirements completed as required
