Two appointments for community transport services in London. 99 candidates worked and 16 presented across the pair, with the harder of the two searches running to 53 days.
Operations Assistant
A community transport and fleet services team providing essential local services · Community transport
- Time to fill
- 42 days
- Package
- £30,000 per annum
- Location
- North East London
Operations support for a community transport team is administration with a safety edge: processing bookings, allocating drivers, keeping logsheets accurate, supervising the safe return of vehicles and crews. It also required a full UK driving licence, a willingness to take driver training, and occasional weekend cover.
Twenty-nine candidates were worked and ten reached internal interview. All ten were presented. Three were interviewed by the client and one was hired, 42 days from brief. The client chose from a genuinely wide shortlist rather than a token three, which suits a role that sits across the office and the fleet.

Community Engagement Officer
A funded community transport and social engagement programme for older adults and people with disabilities · Community engagement
- Time to fill
- 53 days
- Package
- £25,000 per annum
- Location
- East London
The programme runs social clubs, community outings and a door-to-store shopping service, so weekend availability was essential rather than preferred. The post was open to people starting their careers, including college leavers, which widens the field on experience but does nothing to solve the availability constraint or the commitment the work asks for.
Seventy candidates were worked, the largest field across this sector, and eleven reached internal interview. Six were presented, one was interviewed and hired at 53 days. Volume was the answer: the binding constraint was weekend availability, and that only surfaces once each candidate is asked directly.

How the fee works
Every role on this page was delivered on the same basis: a fixed fee, agreed before we start, with no percentage of salary attached. The straightforward search and the difficult one cost the client the same.
That is the point of the model. A percentage fee charges you more for hiring a better-paid person and rewards us for the easy search. A fixed fee puts the risk of a long search where it belongs — with us. And if we do not fill the role, you get every penny of your fee back.
Every figure here comes from our own placement records. Clients and placed candidates are not named. Full detail on the model is on our Guaranteed Hire page.
