Our client is a leading manufacturer, supplier and installer of temporary fencing, site hoarding and barriers, operating across more than 20 locations in the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. They manufacture more than 1.6 million units each year and serve a range of sectors, including construction and security.
The Role
They are looking for a Welder to join their Wisbech Depot, responsible for manufacturing steel fence components and gates to the required specification and cosmetic finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture steel fence components and gates
- Carry out MIG welding
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Use measuring equipment
- Ensure sound weld joints and a good cosmetic finish
- Sand and grind components or assemblies to remove splatter and ensure the optimal fit of components for onward finishing
- Monitor welding processes and ensure materials are free from shrinkage and distortion
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required
Requirements
Essential
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Comfortable lifting steel components and standing for long periods while carrying out manual welding
Desirable
- Previous experience in fabrication or welding
