Paraplanners | Leeds | Full Time | £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

Our client is looking to appoint two Paraplanners to join their Leeds office, with opportunities available for both a junior and a senior-level candidate.
They are looking for career Paraplanners who are committed to developing within the paraplanning profession and do not have an immediate desire to move into a Financial Adviser role.
The Role
As a Paraplanner, you will provide technical research services to Financial Planners and ensure the preparation of client advice is of the highest quality and delivered efficiently, while mitigating risks to the business.
The role is hybrid, with two days per week working from the Leeds office and three days from home. Mondays are a standard office day, providing the opportunity to work alongside the wider team, learn and ask questions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside Financial Planners in the provision and review of suitable investment propositions
- Discuss client objectives with the relevant Financial Planner, identifying and obtaining the necessary client information to prepare suitability checks
- Understand clients’ overall financial position from fact finds
- Maintain high standards of information analysis and undertake comparative research to make suitable recommendations in line with identified client needs
- Accurately prepare suitability reports to target deadlines
- Undertake periodic reviews of existing client portfolios using appropriate software
- Complete technical research as part of the existing arrangement review process
- Maintain a working knowledge of Retail Investment Products
- Liaise competently with Product Providers
- Ensure all client queries are appropriately investigated and accurate responses are provided
- Ensure full compliance with FCA and other regulations, FSMA and the Consumer Duty, including fair treatment of clients, suitability of advice and protection of clients’ assets
- Complete cashflow modelling
- Identify opportunities and skills gaps and increase knowledge through appropriate training
- Maintain awareness of relevant trends in the private client wealth management sector and financial services as a whole
- Develop and follow through on policy changes arising from insights gained
- Participate in and contribute to Paraplanner meetings and client meetings where appropriate
- Ensure accuracy when using appropriate systems and controls and adhere to agreed KPIs
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 2–3 years’ paraplanning experience
- Level 4 CII or LIBF qualification, or currently studying towards the qualification for the junior position
- Experience preparing suitability reports and undertaking technical research
- Strong understanding of clients’ financial positions and fact finds
- Experience undertaking comparative research to support suitable recommendations
- Knowledge of Retail Investment Products
- Understanding of FCA and other relevant financial services regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines and agreed KPIs
- Strong communication skills
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career as a Paraplanner rather than an immediate move into a Financial Adviser role
