Electrical Supervisor | Strood, Kent | Full Time | £60,000–£65,000 per annum + overtime
With over 45 years’ experience, Lyons Electrical is an established commercial and industrial electrical contractor based in Strood, Kent.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Electrical Supervisor with a proven track record of successfully running large commercial and industrial electrical projects.
This is a key site-based role for someone who can take ownership of a project, lead a team effectively and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest standards of workmanship.
As an Electrical Supervisor with Lyons Electrical, you’ll play a key role in overseeing projects on site and representing the company professionally when working with clients, contractors and other site teams.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of electrical projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
Working closely with project managers, clients and other contractors, you’ll be expected to:
- Plan, organise and supervise electrical installation works
- Lead and coordinate electricians, apprentices and subcontractors where required
- Manage labour, materials, equipment and site resources effectively
- Monitor progress against the project programme and ensure key dates are achieved
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and schedules
- Identify potential issues early and work proactively to resolve them
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with BS 7671, project specifications and company standards
- Maintain a strong focus on quality control, testing, snagging and final handover
- Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained at all times
- Work with RAMS, permits, safe systems of work and site documentation
- Liaise professionally with clients, project managers, other trades and site management
- Carry out site inspections and ensure work is completed correctly and to the required standard
- Lead by example and support the development of electricians and apprentices within the team

Applicants MUST have
- A recognised electrical apprenticeship and be a fully qualified electrician
- Significant commercial and industrial electrical experience
- Proven experience supervising electrical teams and running electrical projects
- City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing qualification
- SSSTS qualification
- A valid ECS card
- A strong working knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- The ability to plan works, allocate labour and manage materials effectively
- The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical information
- Experience working with RAMS, permits and safe systems of work
- A strong understanding of quality control, testing, snagging and project handover
- The ability to liaise confidently and professionally with clients and other contractors
- A full, clean UK driving licence
