Civils Project Co-ordinator | Glasgow G5 | Full Time | £29,000–£30,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm
Our client is part of the SCCI Group, a UK provider of digital TV solutions and Fire/Life Safety systems, with nationwide coverage. Their business has a strong technical focus, supported by a large engineering team and a range of industry accreditations including ISO 9001:2015, Constructionline, CHAS and SafeContractor.
They are seeking a Civils Project Co-ordinator to support the delivery of FTTH civil engineering projects across telecoms and utilities.
The Role
As a Civils Project Co-ordinator, you will support projects from survey and mobilisation through to construction, reinstatement, handover and close-out. The role is focused on coordinating project information, documentation, permits, programmes and site requirements, working closely with project and site teams, civil gangs, fibre teams, subcontractors and clients.
This is not a Project Manager position, so the role would suit someone with hands-on industry knowledge who is looking to develop their project coordination experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate FTTH civils projects from survey and mobilisation through to construction, reinstatement, handover and close-out
- Maintain project trackers, build programmes, action logs, document registers, risk and issue logs, permit trackers and defect logs
- Liaise with Project Managers, Delivery Managers, Site Managers, supervisors, civil gangs, fibre teams, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and local authorities
- Coordinate streetworks permits, notices, traffic management requirements, drawings, job packs, specifications, method statements and risk assessments
- Monitor build milestones, update progress records and escalate delays, risks, blockers and permit constraints
- Support procurement and resource coordination, including materials, plant, subcontractors, deliveries and site access
- Coordinate project documentation and records to support Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance
- Maintain accurate project information and ensure documentation is distributed and filed correctly
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience within civils, telecoms, FTTH, utilities or a similar infrastructure environment
- Good understanding of civils works, telecoms infrastructure, ducting, chambers, reinstatement, highways or streetworks
- Experience working with site teams, subcontractors or other operational teams within a construction or infrastructure environment
- Good organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with different stakeholders
- Proactive and detail-focused approach to following up actions and resolving issues
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle preferred
Desirable
- Previous project coordination or construction administration experience
- Experience with FTTH network builds
- Knowledge of permits, noticing, traffic management, local authority requirements and streetworks processes
- Experience with project management, GIS, client portals or document control systems
- Ability to read and manage drawings, schedules, specifications, as-built records and technical documentation
- Previous experience using the Depotnet system
- Understanding of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements within construction, telecoms or
