Setting Out Engineer | Cork | Full Time | €55,000 - €80,000 per annum, DOE

The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will assist in ensuring the accuracy of structures in accordance with design drawings and specifications is achieved at every level during the build process on site. The role will involve working on projects based throughout Cork City and within a 15-mile radius.

Key Responsibilities
- Health and Safety, ensuring all requirements are adhered to and that safety protocols on site are of the highest possible standard
- Setting out, levelling and surveying the site, ensuring accuracy in measurement and detailing
- Working with total stations and other surveying equipment
- Collaborating with the site team to ensure smooth project execution
- Survey data management
- Checking plans and drawings to ensure all calculations are accurate
- Providing progress reports for the site management team and clients
- Regular use of AutoCAD to check on-site dimensions
- Taking levels for the construction of various structures including structural steel frames, finishing concrete, drainage services and roadways
- Liaising with subcontractors and site managers
Requirements
Essential
- Degree/Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or similar
- Valid Safe Pass
- Strong setting out experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work
- Strong understanding of key elements of engineering work including site setting out, day-to-day surveys and as-built drawings
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and communicate effectively with site operatives
- Positive, proactive attitude with a can-do approach
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to take initiative and work both individually and as a strong team player
Desirable
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficient in the use of Topcon
- Good knowledge of latest building regulations and certification standards
