PSV Driver (Cat D / D1) – East London (E10)

£15.50 per hour | Casual / Zero-hours contract | Flexible community driving work

Make a real difference in your local community

We are recruiting reliable and professional PSV drivers to support a respected transport charity delivering essential passenger services across East London.

Each year, our services support thousands of passengers and over 1.3 million journeys — helping people access schools, day centres, medical appointments, and community activities.

This is a flexible driving role ideal for experienced drivers who want variety and the ability to choose when they work.

What the role involves

You will be driving accessible passenger transport vehicles and supporting a range of community-based services, including:

  • School transport runs
  • Day centre and adult social care transport
  • Dial-a-Ride and accessible community journeys
  • Occasional excursions and special trips

You’ll provide a safe, respectful, and reliable service, assisting passengers where needed — including wheelchair users.

Working pattern (important)

  • Casual zero-hours contract (no guaranteed weekly hours)
  • Shifts offered between 06:00 and 00:00, Monday to Sunday
  • Rota issued every 3 weeks
  • Weekend availability required
  • Hours vary depending on service demand

This role suits drivers looking for flexibility and occasional work, rather than fixed full-time hours.

What you’ll receive

  • £15.50 per hour
  • Full training provided
  • Supportive and friendly team environment
  • 23 days holiday + bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Pension scheme
  • Free parking
  • Uniform provided
  • DBS check covered

Who this role suits

  • Experienced D1 / PSV drivers looking for flexible work
  • Retired or semi-retired drivers wanting occasional shifts
  • Drivers who enjoy community-focused work
  • Reliable individuals comfortable with variable schedules

Requirements

  • Valid D1 or PSV licence (maximum 3 penalty points) — essential
  • Professional, safe, and patient driving approach
  • Good communication and customer care skills
  • Flexibility to accept varied shifts, including weekends
  • Passenger transport experience is desirable but not essential

Please note

This is not a full-time or fixed-hours position. Hours are offered based on operational demand and may vary week to week.
