Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an enthusiastic Optical Dispenser or Dispensing Optician to join their friendly and supportive team. The practice is also open to considering a junior or trainee with strong customer service experience and a keen interest in optics.

The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the patient journey, supporting individuals from frame selection through to dispensing and aftercare.
You’ll use your knowledge and attention to detail to help patients choose the right frames and lenses for their lifestyle, prescription, and budget, ensuring an exceptional experience at every stage.
The role is primarily based in Banstead, with occasional cover at nearby practices during periods of annual leave or sickness.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a warm, professional welcome to all patients
- Advising on frames, lenses, coatings, and optical solutions
- Interpreting prescriptions and recommending suitable options
- Taking accurate dispensing measurements
- Fitting, adjusting, repairing, and maintaining spectacles
- Delivering high-quality aftercare and ongoing support
- Liaising with suppliers and laboratories to ensure smooth service delivery
- Supporting stock control and frame merchandising
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Contributing to a positive, team-oriented practice culture
About You
- Experience within an optical practice (essential for senior level applicants)
- Optical Dispenser or Dispensing Optician (qualified or part-qualified)
Junior / Trainee applicants will also be considered if you have:
- Strong customer service or retail experience
- A genuine interest in optics and patient care
- A willingness to learn and develop within the industry
Desirable
- ABDO qualification or working towards it
- Experience in an independent optical practice
- Knowledge of premium lens products
- Familiarity with optical practice management systems
