The Role
This role involves performing planned and reactive maintenance on high-speed automated equipment within a fast-paced distribution environment. You will work as part of a dedicated maintenance team responsible for ensuring maximum equipment availability while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The position requires a flexible approach to shift working (likely week on / week off) and overtime when required. Attractive shift patterns are being finalised and are designed to provide an excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance on automated material handling equipment
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis and repairs
- Maintain automated conveyor and sortation systems
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC and control systems
- Carry out general maintenance and technical cleaning activities
- Support preventative maintenance programmes using CMMS
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased equipment reliability
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime within a fast-paced operational environment
- Work effectively as part of a dedicated maintenance team
- Maintain high standards of safety and engineering practice
Requirements
Essential
- Experience maintaining automated machinery within an industrial environment
- Strong electrical maintenance background
- Experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
- Experience fault-finding on automated equipment
- Knowledge of conveyor, material handling or automated production systems
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Flexible approach to shift working and overtime when required
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Engineering qualification (practical experience will also be considered)
- Experience with high-speed automation
- Conveyor or sortation systems experience
- PLC fault-finding and diagnostics
- Pneumatic or electromechanical systems experience
- Experience within manufacturing, logistics, food production, pharmaceutical or other automated industrial environments
- Experience using CMMS maintenance systems
