Finance Analyst / Management Accountant | Heston, Middlesex (TW5 9QA) | Full Time | £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

The Role
They are seeking a Finance Analyst / Management Accountant to join the finance team due to continued business growth.
The role sits between a traditional Management Accountant and a Finance Analyst position. Candidates from either background will be considered, provided they are strong in one area and able to develop in the other.
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the successful candidate will support finance operations across multiple group entities. The role involves production, analysis and reporting of management accounts, financial and operational analysis, and revenue assurance activities.
Responsibilities
Management Accounting
- Preparation of income statements, balance sheets and other financial documents
- Month-end close activities
- Journals, accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of management accounts
- Measuring financial performance based on financial records
- Identifying problem areas and presenting recommendations to management
- Performing audits of departments within the organisation
- Overseeing bookkeeping and payroll activities
- Evaluating financial information systems and recommending improvements
- Communicating and interpreting financial data to non-financial managers
Revenue Assurance & Analysis
- Revenue assurance, including ensuring supplier costs are captured and billed correctly
- Ensuring surcharges are applied correctly, and tariffs are configured appropriately
- Monitoring and reporting product and client volumes/activity on a weekly and monthly basis
- Identifying trends and variances and providing analysis and commentary
- Yield management analysis (revenue per square metre, client value, stock rotation)
- Group profitability analysis by client, agent and service
- Financial and operational data analysis
- Revenue leakage identification and revenue protection opportunities
- Customer spend analysis
- Invoice reconciliations using Xero and courier systems
- Working with operational data from systems including JAIMS and Domo
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant, Finance Analyst or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
- Strong data analysis and reporting experience
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and advanced formulae
- Knowledge of financial tools and systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly numerate with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to self-motivate and work with minimal supervision
Desirable
- SQL and/or Power BI experience
- Experience with data extraction, business intelligence reporting, revenue assurance, margin analysis or profitability reporting
- Experience within the courier, logistics or related industry
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA part-qualified or studying
