Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum (DOE)

Our client is a well-established family law firm with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, client-focused legal services. Their team of specialist solicitors handles a wide range of family law matters, including complex financial disputes, children law, and domestic abuse cases.
They are now seeking a Family Solicitor (NQ–3 PQE) to join their Luton office. The firm is open to both traditional employed positions and consultant or fee-share arrangements, depending on experience and preference.
This is a strong opportunity for a junior to mid-level solicitor looking to develop their career within a supportive and well-structured family law environment.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of family law matters, working across both Legal Aid and private client work. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of family law matters with appropriate supervision where required
- Handling divorce and financial remedy proceedings
- Managing private and public children law cases
- Dealing with domestic abuse matters and emergency injunction applications
- Working on cohabitation disputes and TOLATA claims
- Preparing Schedule 1 Children Act applications
- Advising on pre-nuptial and related family law agreements
- Preparing legal documentation, drafting, and case progression work
- Supporting advocacy preparation and client representation
- Ensuring accurate case management and compliance with Legal Aid processes
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a motivated Family Solicitor with strong technical ability and a client-focused approach.
Essential Requirements
- NQ–3 years PQE in Family Law
- Strong understanding of Legal Aid processes, including eligibility and applications
- Experience managing family law casework (public and/or private)
- Ability to run a caseload independently with appropriate supervision
- Strong drafting and advocacy preparation skills
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Competence using case management systems and standard IT tools
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
Desirable Experience
- Experience across both Legal Aid and private family law work
- Exposure to TOLATA, Schedule 1, or injunction matters
- Previous experience in a high-volume family law practice
- Experience supporting senior solicitors on complex cases
- Familiarity with billing processes and private client financial work
- A portable client base (advantageous but not essential)
