EV Charging Electrician | London – Croydon or Watford and surrounding areas (UK travel required) | Full Time | £42,000 basic (£55,000+ realistic earning potential through productivity bonus)
Our client provides a range of renewable energy services to domestic and commercial clients throughout the UK. Due to rapid growth in the EV sector and multiple contract wins, they are now expanding their team of experienced electricians.
With the EV industry continuing to grow and electrical competency requirements becoming increasingly important, this is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified electrician looking to build a long-term career within a rapidly expanding sector.

You'll work on a diverse range of domestic and commercial EV charging installations across the UK, partnering with leading organisations within the electric vehicle sector. The role offers a varied workload, predominantly carrying out home installations, while also supporting workplace charging, commercial infrastructure projects, and service and maintenance work, providing excellent experience across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations, alongside EV charging systems
- Carry out electrical inspection and testing
- Install EV charge points within domestic and commercial properties
- Service, maintain and fault-find on EV charging equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults on EV charge points (with additional training provided where required)
- Install general power and lighting systems
- Install containment systems including tray, trunking and ladder rack
- Complete domestic and commercial electrical surveys
- Work independently while managing your own workload effectively
- Maintain excellent customer service standards when working with clients and end users
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
Requirements
Essential
- Fully qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- AM2 qualification or equivalent recognised electrical competency route
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS7671)
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent) preferred
- EV charging qualification such as C&G 2919 EVSE Installation Course or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years' electrical installation experience
- Experience working within domestic, commercial or industrial environments
- Full UK driving licence with less than 6 points
- Proven experience completing electrical installation works to a high standard
- Ability to work independently and organise your own workload
- Good level of computer literacy
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Positive attitude with a willingness to develop and progress
Desirable
- Previous commercial EV charger installation experience
- Experience working with different EV charge point manufacturers
- Experience in service, maintenance and fault-finding environments
