Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to work on innovative power distribution and switchgear projects within a fast-growing engineering business? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Our client is a modern and rapidly expanding electrical design and manufacturing engineering company, supporting industrial clients, design firms, and end users across a wide range of sectors. They provide an extensive range of products and services, including panel boards, 5000A distribution systems, PDUs, and Power Factor Correction units, as well as maintenance and design contracts for both existing and new switchgear and control systems.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking experienced Electrical Engineers with a background in Power Distribution and Switchgear to join their expanding team.

The Role

  • Developing electrical switchgear systems designs (layouts, schematics and BOMs) per project requirements, including sub-distribution
  • Preparing detailed electrical schematics for switchgear as well as general arrangement layout drawings (utilising SEE Electrical and AutoCAD)
  • Preparing electrical bills of materials
  • Preparing draft single-line drawings for tendering purposes
  • Proactively interacting with customers, consultants and other staff to resolve identified issues via phone, in person and via email

Requirements

Essential

  • Confidence in communicating with clients and stakeholders to resolve technical issues
  • Proven experience developing schematics associated with switchgear products
  • Experience using SEE Electrical or similar electrical design software
  • Experience using 2D and/or 3D design software
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Open to adopting new design technologies to improve design processes

Desirable

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline
  • Candidates from a strong technical background who fit the profile will also be considered
  • Previous experience within Power Distribution and Switchgear environments
