Hours: Full-time | Monday to Thursday | 7:00am – 5:00pm (38-hour week)

The Role
Working with Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes, you will manufacture high-precision components from customer drawings and specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Programming, setting and operating Fanuc CNC lathes
- Editing Fanuc programs
- Selecting and setting cutting tools
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Manufacturing components accurately to customer specifications
- Working to tight tolerances in a high-precision environment
- Producing one-off and small batch components
- Using micrometres, callipers, gauges and other precision measuring equipment
- Carrying out in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping
- Working collaboratively as part of the production team
About You
Essential
- Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience within a subcontract engineering environment
- Experience programming, setting and operating Fanuc CNC lathes
- Good working knowledge of CAD/CAM
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with minimal supervision
- Experience using precision measuring equipment, including micrometres, callipers and gauges
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting speeds and feeds across a range of materials
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work
- Good communication skills with proficient English
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Positive attitude and a team-focused approach
Desirable
- Experience in CNC milling and conventional machining
