Business Development Executive | Remote (UK mainland) with occasional travel throughout the UK | Part-time, 22.5 hours per week (Flexible) | £34,000 FTE
Our client is the UK's largest multi-charity retailer of Christmas cards and gifts. For 40 years, they have helped charities raise millions of pounds whilst supporting churches, libraries, museums and community venues across the country.
As they continue to grow, they are looking for an experienced Business Development Executive to help them identify new opportunities, develop strategic partnerships and expand their network of Christmas seasonal shops, everyday card spinners and community initiatives.

Please note: this is a remote, flexible position, based primarily from home with occasional travel throughout the UK.
The Role
This is a relationship-led business development role focused on building strategic partnerships that generate sustainable income and support long-term growth.
You will be responsible for developing new opportunities for seasonal and year-round retail venues, working closely with organisations that can host or support charitable retail activity.
You will engage confidently with senior decision-makers across churches, local authorities, museums, libraries, military organisations, businesses and wider community groups, building trusted relationships that lead to long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify new opportunities for Christmas seasonal shops and year-round income generation development
- Develop relationships with churches, cathedrals, libraries, museums, military establishments, businesses and community organisations
- Build strategic partnerships with national organisations
- Arrange and attend meetings with prospective partners
- Prepare partnership proposals and presentations
- Develop and manage a pipeline of new opportunities
- Work closely with the Leadership and Retail Teams to support new venue development
- Represent Cards for Good Causes at networking events and meetings
- Identify opportunities to support the development of Community Connection Hubs
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to support sustainable growth
Requirements
Essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement
- Confidence meeting senior decision-makers
- Experience in business development, partnerships or relationship management
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Excellent organisational and presentation skills
- A positive, proactive approach
- Ability to spot opportunities and turn conversations into long-term partnerships
Desirable
- Experience within the charity, retail, community or commercial sectors
- Existing networks across churches, community organisations or public sector bodies
- Experience working with or alongside charitable organisations
