If you learn best by doing, thrive on variety, and want to build a proper IT career with a team that invests in your growth from day one, this role is designed for you. Our client, a trusted managed service provider supporting law firms, financial services, healthcare and accountancy practices across Yorkshire, is looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to become the reliable first line of support and a regular, welcome face on client sites.
The Role
You will be the first response on the service desk and the go-to person onsite. Your week will be split between answering calls, logging and resolving tickets, and travelling to client offices across the Leeds region for floor-walking, new starter setups, hardware swaps and site checks. You will also work alongside a Project Engineer on rollouts and installations, helping to prepare kit and carefully document sites so every detail is recorded and support runs smoothly.
This is a hybrid role, working from the Leeds office and client sites with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays when site visits permit.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer service desk calls and log tickets clearly, ensuring every issue is properly recorded
- Resolve 1st line issues across Microsoft 365, Windows devices, printers and everyday business software
- Conduct regular onsite visits for floor-walking, new starter setups, hardware swaps and site checks
- Support project rollouts with preparation, installation and thorough site documentation
- Keep tickets updated with meaningful notes and see every job through to closure
- Escalate issues clearly and early when required, providing the detail the next engineer needs
- Spot and log improvement opportunities while onsite, feeding a proactive improvement pipeline
What You'll Need
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the Leeds region
- A genuine interest in IT, with some experience of supporting Windows devices and Microsoft 365 through work, study or serious home use
- Clear, friendly communication skills, both face-to-face and on the phone
- Reliability and strong organisation: you turn up, follow through and get things finished
- The right to work in the UK, availability for a Leeds-based hybrid pattern, and a suitable home-working setup for remote days
It would be a bonus if you have previous service desk, retail tech or customer-facing experience, CompTIA A+ or Microsoft fundamentals certifications, hands-on hardware experience, or familiarity with ticketing systems, but none of these are essential. The team is hiring for attitude and potential, and will provide the training and certifications to help you grow.
What's On Offer
- Competitive salary of £25,500 - £28,000 per annum plus mileage for site travel
- A proper start in a growing MSP, with real variety from day one
- Investment in Microsoft certifications and a defined progression path towards 2nd line
- A supportive team that shares knowledge and celebrates success
- A clear structure with defined goals, regular check-ins and clear accountabilities, so you always know what success looks like
- Pension and holiday allowance
If you are a natural helper who gets genuine satisfaction from sorting things properly, stays calm when people are having a difficult day with their technology, and is honest about what you know and quick to ask when you do not, we would love to hear from you. Apply today with your CV and a few lines about what attracted you to this opportunity, and take the first step towards a rewarding career where you will be valued, visible and supported every step of the way.
