POSITION: Property Officer

SALARY: £26,000

BENEFITS: Company pension, development and training and other benefits (see below)

HOURS: 37 Hours per week, including evening and weekends where necessary

LOCATION: Croydon, CR0 1QG


Established in 1981, our client is both a charity, and not for profit organisation, who specialise in helping to reduce homelessness of young people and vulnerable adults. The charity’s mission is to enable young people to have a safe place to call home and to access opportunities to have the best chance in life. Based in South London the organisation is now seeking to expand its model of care and support, across London and further afield, in the South of England.

The charity is seeking a talented individual to join as a Supported Property Officer. This role is an exciting opportunity to actively make a real difference in the lives of young and vulnerable adults. Working as a Supported Housing Officer you must have a positive, solution focused approach with a background of working with vulnerable people in housing or a support related environment.


  • Assist the Operations Manager with the day-to-day running of the service providing guidance and a proactive response within the team.

  • Lead on void management through ensuring referrals are sourced in advance, interviews and matching processes are efficient and within the agreed timeframes.

  • Deputise for the Operations Manager as and when required and directed by the Head of Service.

  • Ensure rooms are ready to let within agreed timeframes.

  • Adopt a proactive approach to achieving a positive, engaging and promotional role with service users and local authorities.

  • Coordinate with all stakeholders within the business to ensure voids are managed effectively.

  • Responsible for ensuring up to date records are maintained, including full and accurate use of the Clients Records Database.

  • Undertake any other duties as requested, by management.


  • An NVQ Level 3 (or above) or equivalent qualification and / or willingness to work towards a Management qualification.

  • Experience of providing support services to young and vulnerable people.

  • Experience of supervising volunteers and other non-paid workers is desirable.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and Safeguarding legislations.

  • Previous experience of developing individuals and teams to improve performance and service delivery.

  • Previous experience of using an electronic case management system.

  • A desire to positively impact the lives of young and vulnerable adults.
