POSITION: SMT ENGINEER
SALARY: £27k – £30k p/a
HOURS: 8am – 4pm (Shift 1)
OR: 12am – 8am (Shift 3) (plus 30% shift allowance)

Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit experienced SMT Engineers for various shifts. Shift 3 (12am – 8am) will be eligible for a 30% additional shift allowance. Please indicate your shift preference with your application.

As an SMT Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing the SMT production lines and carrying out Surface Mount Technology (SMT) activities to quality and industry standards.
The role will involve using written work instructions and items lists to assemble products to customer specifications and IPC-J-STD-001 Class 3 as directed.
You will be liaising with SMT Production Manager / Supervisor regarding day to day activities of SMT lines, operating SMT machinery and carrying out machine maintenance as and when required and setting up all necessary equipment and carrying out necessary checks.
You will also be programming SMT machinery as and when required, checking production documentation, and liaising with Quality and Engineering on SMT queries
Part of the role will require you to support the SMT Production Manager / Supervisor in leading and supervising a team, support the daily activities of SMT Production Manager & SMT Supervisor with particular regard to continuous improvement and staff training and development, and deputise for SMT Production Manager & SMT Supervisor as required to ensure SMT production continues smoothly in their absence
You will need previous experience of working in an electronics manufacturing environment, to be computer literate with some experience of computer programming, and have excellent attention to detail and accuracy
IPC experience desirable.
